The magic of movies inspires Disney's 1,920-room All-Star Movies Resort, the new value resort which opened during a year of unprecedented growth at Walt Disney World Resort.

Giant icons from favorite Disney movies set the scene and cameras are rolling -- guests' cameras, that is. Colossal images from "101 Dalmatians," "Toy Story," "Fantasia," "The Mighty Ducks" and "The Love Bug" decorate the new resort hotel.

Disney's All-Star Movies Resort joins the popular pair of value resorts -- Disney's 1,920-room All-Star Music Resort and 1,920-room All-Star Sports Resort on a 62-acre site near Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The new value resort features some big stars -- really big stars. Pongo and Perdita from "101 Dalmatians" and Buzz Lightyear from "Toy Story" tower more than 35 feet tall. Buzz's partner Woody sits 25 feet tall in his super-size cowboy hat. Herbie the famous bug is approximately five times his normal size. Giant sorcerers' hats, spell books, brooms and buckets decorate the Fantasia area, and the Mighty Ducks section scores with giant hockey sticks, goalie nets and duck-shaped hockey masks.

Movies also inspire the check-in and guest service facilities and a food court with five marquee venues, a gift shop and arcade.

Guests looking for a cinematic swim can "skate" into the hockey rink-themed pool in the Mighty Ducks or join Sorcerer Mickey as he directs a liquid symphony at the Fantasia pool, featuring a kiddie area. An outdoor pool bar offers light food and drink.

Families will enjoy the whimsy of this brightly-colored movieland, along with great rates -- 2010 value rates at Disney's All-Star Resorts are $99-$149 per room per night. Most rooms sleep four. Non-smoking and connecting rooms and accommodations for guests with disabilities also are available.

The Fantasia-themed area of the new Disney's All-Star Movies Resort represents the original "Fantasia" with oversized icons such as brooms and buckets, a sorcerer's hat and a spell book. Also represented is a segment from the "Fantasia 2000" film entitled "The Steadfast Tin Soldier," with larger-than-life icons including a ballerina, a jack-in-the-box, roses and tin soldiers. "Fantasia 2000" is based on the original "Fantasia" but also features six new segments, one of which is "The Steadfast Tin Soldier."
