Sunset Boulevard pays tribute to the glamorous theater district in all its glory. It also includes a shopping area
with gifts themed to classic films and Disney characters. Light dining and
snacks are available at the outdoor Sunset Ranch Market. As you make your way down sunset blvd, standing at the end of Sunset Boulevard is the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Home of the Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror. The Tower of Terror features random ride and drop sequences that make the attraction faster
and more unexpected than ever before. In addition, visual, audio and olfactory special effects make Tower of Terror one of the most
advanced multi-sensory attractions anywhere in the world. Ghostly apparitions, rocketing ascents, more “air time” and
cannon blasts of chilling air are just a few of the surprises in store for brave riders. All of the ride sequences are unique and random, so not even the droll hotel “bellhops” know which specific sequence guests
are queued to ride. It’s the first Disney attraction in the world to offer random experiences and the first where the
attraction actually determines the ride sequence. Down towards the end of sunset blvd is "Beauty and the Beast -- Live on Stage". The 25-minute musical extravaganza uses elaborate props,
extravagant costumes, colorful production numbers and dramatic special effects to tell the mesmerizing, fairy tale love
story of Belle and the Beast, which can been seen at Theater of the Stars. Many elements found in the film also are used in the stage show. The stage production also borrows many of the film's popular songs.
Credit for the collection of toe-tapping tunes belongs to Academy Award-winning composers Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. The stage show
brings the film to life, while keeping all the magic and wonder of the animated version At the very end of sunset blvd, next to the Hollywood Tower Hotel is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. During the preshow, you are
given backstage passes to see one of the world's greatest rock and roll bands takes a few unexpected twists and turns through the Hollywood hills.
You board a "limo" coaster in the allyway in an effort to get to the concert. This indoor roller coaster features a high-speed launch of
0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, three inversions, rock-concert lighting and a specially created Aerosmith soundtrack blasting from 120 onboard
speakers in each coaster train. This section of the park can get quite busy through the day as the parks two most exciting attraction reside right next to each other. If you happen to
visit on a day where there are two showings of Fantasmic! then you best time to ride these two attractions is during the first showing as everyone is
cramming to get in the show. The other option on busier days is to get there early. Both attractions feature the FASTPass ride reservation system
so this may be an option as well. |
